Let me first say that I am an entertainment industry consumer. I go to movies, I buy music and DVD’s. That being said, why do movie studios and record companies hate me so much.
Case in point.
Redbox is something I love. The movie rental kiosks that sit outside my local Walgreens or in the lobby of many WalMarts are convenient affordable ways of renting dvd’s. Nearly every weekend I rent 3-4 dvds from a Redbox, often they are movies I would not rent otherwise, but since they are $1 a night, I give them a try. That alone means the movie studios are getting money they normally wouldn’t.
So why then are the studios fighting tooth and nail to keep their movies out of the kiosks and there for out of the hands of consumers?
